DCR employs over 80 male and female Disability Care and Youth Workers in care locations from Toowoomba to Ipswich to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
DCR staff must have a Certificate III in Disability Services, Youth Work or Aged Care from a recognised TAFE College, or other suitable qualifications.
As well, they must be able to demonstrate good experience in providing personal care and lifestyle support to children or adults with a disability, children at risk, older people or those with a chronic illness in either a community or institutional care environment.
DCR employs staff without these qualifications, but they must have at least 3 years demonstrated, successful experience in the provision of personal care and lifestyle support services.
All DCR staff hold a ‘Disability Services Positive Notice Card’, a ‘Positive Notice for Child Related Employment’ (Blue Card) and a current First Aid Certificate. In addition, they must hold a current driver’s licence and have a roadworthy motor vehicle with current registration.
