Direct Care Resources provides an Emergency Respite service, for families caring for adults with a disability and for Foster Carers of children and young people who need some immediate 'time out' for themselves, This service is designed to respond quickly to the needs of families in crisis and, indeed, to all primary carers who are experiencing stress and tension as a result of this demanding role.
Emergency Respite can be provided on request for a period negotiated between the family or fosters carers, Direct Care Resources and the government funding agency.
DCR's experienced care staff are available to transport clients from their residence to our respite facilities in Toowoomba, Ipswich, Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Bribie Island and to provide care and support in a safe, comfortable environment. Upon conclusion of the respite period, care staff transport clients back to their place of permanent residence.
