Corporate Management Team

DCR's Corporate Management Team provides professional, strategic managerial support to the Principals.  The members are:

Lester Harth, BA, Cert Mgt, Cert Trng  - Manager (Business Affairs)

Lester is responsible for the management of DCR's business systems, policy and practice including quality assurance, workplace health and safety, computing and data security, corporate systems design and development and overall corporate administration. Lester held the position of Director of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations at the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency for over fifteen (15) years and was previously a Senior Consultant with the Queensland Public Service Board, specializing in human resources, systems development and organizational change. 

Lester holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and political science from the Univerity of Queensland and Certificates in Management and Training.

Christian McCarty, BA ( Media and Screen Production), AFAIM  - Manager (Media and Business Development) 

Christian is responsible for the identification and development of new and diversified business opportunities, the commercial application of contemporary digital visual technology to disability care, youth work, staff training and client life skills together with care service promotion and advertising both locally and nationally.  He manages the Digital Media Division of Direct Care Resources and has been involved in the production of promotional and commercial training DVDs working with scripting, camera, sound, editing as well as having on-camera responsibilities. He was also the Executive Producer for a full-length feature film, Sleeper, shot in Brisbane in 2008 and has had lead and support on-camera roles in Sweet FA (2006), Posse (2007), Side Effects (2007), Sleeper  (2008) Sea Patrol (2010) and Terra Nova (2011) as well as appearing in a number of TV commercials.  

Christian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Screen Production from Griffith University and is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.  Christian is also a Director of Corporate Development Services (Australia) Pty Ltd and Joint Chair and Director of Seven8 Media Pty Ltd.

Jacob McCarty, B Bus St, AFAIM - Manager (Business Operations)

Jacob is responsible for ensuring that DCR's field operations are managed according to 'best practice' business principles.  His role includes sourcing, development and overall management of DCR’s major assets including its property portfolio.  Jake is also involved in the development of new business initiatives including web-based marketing and continuing expansion of DCR care services locally and nationally. 

Jake holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Management) from Monash University and is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.  He is also a Director of Corporate Development Services (Australia) Pty Ltd.  

Andrew Brown, BA (Screen Production, Film and Media) - Manager (Digital Media)

Andrew is responsible for the management and development of business opportunities using contemporary digital media technology.  An accomplished Film Director, Dru worked in Asia for a number of years on a range of Asian and international film productions notably for HBO, MGM and the History Channel.  At DCR, he is involved in the scripting, direction and production of feature films and promotional and commercial training DVDs.  He was the Director of the full-length feature film, Sleeper, in 2008 and has directed DCR staff training and development DVDs, Behaviour Management and Risk Management

Dru holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film, Media and Screen Production from Griffith University and is Joint Chair and  Director of Seven8 Media Pty Ltd.

Sue Strong, Manager (Care Policy and Practice)

Sue is responsible for care planning, policy and practice development, training and case management. Sue works extensively with DCR care staff, clients and government agency representatives in both the disability care and child protection sectors to ensure 'best practice' in the provision of care to our clients. She is especially passionate about teaching care staff about the critical importance of their role and how they can improve the quality of life and independence for people with a disability and children and young people in care. 

Sue was DCR's Care Management Consultant for four (4) years. She has also held the position of Service Director for Rural Lifestyle Options Inc at Beaudesert for over six years and was responsible for the development of a new Learning Centre in Beaudesert for people with disabilities to learn skills to enhance their level of independence.

Tracey Macmaster, Business Support Coordinator

Tracey is responsible for the management and coordination of all business support services for DCR including reception, staff rostering and management, direct liaison with clients, their families and government agency representatives, office administration, records and information management.  Tracey has been with DCR for over five years and was previously employed in the retail sector.

Maree Bell, Business Services Coordinator

Maree is primarily responsible for the financial management aspects of the business and brings to DCR a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area.  She owned and operated her own book-keeping and marketing business for over fifteen (15) years and has also held positions of Financial Controller, Secretary and Treasurer in both private companies and 'not for profit' organizations.   She is highly skilled in accounting and busininess software applications.  Maree is also a Justice of the Peace and holds a number of agent certifications in the Real Estate sector.  The position of Business Services Coordinator is shared with Yuka Kanaya.

Yuka Kanaya, Business Services Coordinator

Yuka is primarily responsible for the financial management aspects of the the business and brings to DCR professional experience and skills in accounting and financial management.  She has worked in financial management as Assistant Accountant and Accountant Manager in the tourism and tertiary education sectors since 2003.   Yuka holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Tourism and has met the acedemic requirements for membership of Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA Australia) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).  She shares the position of Business Services Coordinator with Maree Bell.

Cliff McCarty, Property Management Coordinator

Cliff is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day management of DCR's commercial and residential properties and associated assets is both cost-effective and in accordance with approved property maintenance standards. Prior to joining Cliff worked for nearly 30 years in the Health Faculty of a major tertiary educational institution where, in addittion to his responsibilities as a specalist Technician, he was responsible for the acquisition, management and maintenance of a large medical-related asset portfolio. 

Felicity Clements, Administration Officer

Felicity is responsible for day-to-day administration including records management, development of administrative systems, business enquiries and assisting in ensuring compliance with licensing and quality system requirements.  Previously, Felicity worked in administrative roles in Queensland Rail and in the Real Estate industry. 

Talia Feilo, Administration Officer

Talia provides advice and assistance to the Principals and the the Manager (Business Affairs) in the design and maintenance of DCR's information systems, staff security compliance, policy and practice manuals and related documentation.  Prior to joining DCR, Talia worked in administration in Education Queensland, QBuild and Queensland Motorways.
